City of Deerfield Beach Sewer Backup
The City of Deerfield Beach experienced a sewer backup, affecting multiple residents within the area. The main master bedroom and bathroom were filled with black water requiring water extraction and dry out. Water from sewer systems is always considered black water and should be treated as being highly toxic. Black water, Category 3, requires a high level of safety and caution as it is typically filled with bacteria and other contaminants. Though categories 1 or 2 are not considered sanitary or safe for drinking, category 3 black water is grossly unsanitary and can cause serious illness if not approached with extreme caution.
